ISLE Annual Conferences
The Indian Society of Labour Economics'(ISLE) annual conference is a unique occasion of bonhomie, camaraderie and sharing of knowledge and experiences, which all the members of the Society eagerly look forward to. In addition to the members, the Conference also attracts a large number of other distinguished academicians, representatives of industry, trade union leaders and policy makers. Each annual conference provides an excellent forum for labour economists, professionals interested in labour and employment relations, policy makers and trade union leaders, among others, to discuss the important problems and issues concerning labour and employment.
List of Past Conferences
ISLE has been holding annual conferences regularly since its inception at various places in the country. So far 58 such conferences have already been organised at various places in the country. Several of these conferences have been inaugurated by prominent dignitaries which in recent years include former President, late Shri K.R. Narayanan, and former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The 61st Annual Conference
The Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE) is pleased to announce its 61st Annual Conference to be held in Patiala, Punjab during 7- 9 December 2019. This Conference is being organised by Centre for Development Economics and Innovation Studies (CDEIS), Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Gerry Rodgers, Visiting Professor, Institute for Human Development, Delhi and Former Director, International Institute of Labour Studies, Geneva is the Conference President. Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Gill, Professor of Economics, Associate Dean Researchand Coordinator, CDEIS, Punjabi University,Patiala is the Organising Secretary of the Conference.
